Frequently Asked Questions
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is the use of food, lifestyle changes and nutritional supplementation to support health issues, improve wellbeing and provide the body with what it needs to function optimally. Naturopathic Nutrition stresses the use of whole and organic foods as medicine – an integral concept of healing in many indigenous societies.
Who can it benefit?
I believe everyone can benefit from nutritional therapy in some way. Whether you have a diagnosed condition or just an endless list of symptoms....Nutritional therapy can help!
What are your qualifications?
I am a fully qualified nutritional therapist and I studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Manchester for 3 years, then became a clinical supervisor for them. I am required to attend several training courses per year which allows me to stay up to date with the latest cutting-edge research in Nutritional Therapy. I am also a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), both of which are accredited and recognised associations in the UK. At this point, I have worked with hundreds of clients since qualifying in 2017.
What can I expect at my initial consultation?
Before your initial consultation you are required to complete an in-depth health questionnaire which covers your health history, current medication, family history, symptoms and much more, along with a food diary. These should be completed and returned no later than 48 before your scheduled appointment. This will allow me to prepare for your case in advance and they should be completed accurately and honestly to allow the best protocol to be created, specifically for your needs. The initial consultation lasts around 90 minutes and we cover your case in more detail. I will talk you through my initial recommendations, giving you a chance to ask questions and then you will receive a recap of the consultation along with your health protocol within 48 hours.
How much do you charge for a consultation?
My packages (4 sessions) are all currently £675 GBP when paid in full (subject to change), but payment plans are available upon request.
What do the consultation fees cover?
The price I charge does not just cover the 60-90 minute consultation, but also the several hours I spend before and after our meeting, researching, preparing for and writing up your case and protocol. Plus when you hire a coach, you are paying for their expertise and several thousand hours of training, education, clinical hours & research.
How long will it take for my symptoms to improve?
It varies, depending on the individuals condition, how long it's been occurring and the amount of effort and change they put in. Some people can experience increased energy, less bloating and fewer sugar cravings within days, whereas those with more complex and chronic conditions such as endometriosis, inflammatory skin conditions & infertility may require long term support and may only see improvements after 6 months of regular consultations.
Are there any extra costs ?
Any supplements or private testing that I may recommend as part of your protocol are not included in the consultation fee. These are optional 'tools' that I frequently use with clients to speed up and aid their results. You will be asked during the consultation if you are open to trying my suggestions and your budget for any additional resources.
If you can no longer attend your consultation, please let me know as soon as possible and we will arrange a suitable alternative date. If you wish to cancel your consultation for any reason, please give at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you will not be refunded.
